MBASA MDA

Queen’s College is pleased to announce that our 2024 1ST Team Rugby Captain, Mbasa Mda, has been awarded a full bursary at The Sharks Academy!

Mbasa had a great rugby playing career for Queen’s College, playing 1ST Team in Grade 11 and Matric as well as leading our 1ST XV to a fantastic 2024 season. Mbasa also represented Border at the 2022 U.16 Grant Khomo Week, 2023 Academy Week and in 2024 at the prestigious Craven Week.

Mbasa’s academic results have opened the door for him to study a 4-year degree, being Management in International Supply, while at The Sharks Academy. His time at Queen’s College has allowed him to make this transition to being a full student athlete much easier and we are extremely happy for him and thrilled that the Sharks pushes academic success as much as rugby success. It is a perfect fit and one of the big reasons we are so happy with our partnership.
