Jordyn McLeary from Crawford International Fourways has been making waves in the National Eisteddfod and Talent Africa scenes, and it is all thanks to her exceptional voice and dedication to her craft. Jordyn has always been passionate about singing for as long as she can remember. This became evident when she started voice lessons with her teacher Mercia Silcock. She was in Grade 3 at the time.Jordan’s hard work and talent has paid off. She has always strived to better herself in her singing. She recently took part in the talent competition named, National Eisteddfod and left the audience members wanting more. Jordan was granted her provincial and national colours through the Federation of Performing Arts South Africa (FPASA). She also received the Ambassador’s award for her age group at the National Eisteddfod in 2023.

One of her standout qualities is her competitive spirit and always striving to do better in every performance she does. Mercia Silcock, the Music and Voice Coach from the school said, “Jordyn is known for her professionalism and captivating presence on stage. She wowed the audience with her rendition of Celine Dion’s hit song, ‘My Heart Will Go On’ during the Talent Africa competition, where she sang from her very own Titanic boat constructed for the school’s production.” Silcock could not help but beam with pride. “She truly deserves this outstanding achievement. She has worked hard and has represented our school, community, and South Africa on the International stage with grace.”Tasneem Evans the school’s Client Experience Officer added, “Jordyn’s talent and hard work have not gone unnoticed. With the unwavering support of her family and friends. She continues to reach for the stars while staying grounded in her roots.”
