The week kicked off with an Afrikaans assembly where Mr Kamfer, one of our Afrikaans educators, delivered an engrossing history of the Afrikaans language. Our 2026 Head and Deputy Head Prefects addressed the school in Afrikaans, followed by five brave Grade 8 students who spoke from the stage on how their vision of Afrikaans has changed from primary to high school.

The week ended on Thursday with the highlight event: “DIE WOORDESKATKOMPETISIE VIR WBHS ONDERWYSERS” Ons geniet Afrikaans by WBHS!
