Jócke Coetzee: Patrator award: The Patrator Award is presented to a high school learner in recognition of Excellence for OUtstsanding Academic, Sports or Cultural Achievement. It is the highest tribute paid by Hotazel College in order to honour the Talent and determination of a learner who has been an inspiration and example for fellow learner, their teachers and the community. The standards set by learners who have received the Patrator Award remain Touchstones of Excellence at this school for generations to come.The different tenets which may be applied from year to year in accordance with the differing stregths, interests and talents of pupils, must be recognized.  In this regard it is not the intention of the award to encourage clones of the previous recipient, but to encourage pupils to strive for superlative accomplishment in their particular fields of personal strength.

The Patrator award is inextricably linked to acknowledging a Balanced and Winning Personality which finds its true strength in Perseverance in its aim for excellence and a High Level of Personal Proficiency.
