Dundee High School shows hearts against Ferrum High School

Dundee High School learners displayed determination, sportsmanship and true school spirit in a busy week of fixtures against Ferrum High School across several sporting codes.
The DHS rugby teams faced a tough and physical Ferrum side, with the boys showing resilience and courage throughout the afternoon’s matches. The 1st rugby team fought bravely but went down 15–7 in a hard-fought encounter. Coaches praised the players for their commitment, teamwork and brotherhood on the field, proving once again the meaning behind the slogan Small School, Big Heart. The other scores were: u/14 lost 10 – 24, u/16 lost 12 – 29 and the 2nd team lost 10 – 22.
On the netball courts, DHS produced exciting performances, with the 1st team securing an impressive 21–19 victory in a thrilling match. The 2nd team also celebrated success with a strong 20–13 win. Other results included: U14: DHS 6–5 Ferrum, U15: DHS 3–19 Ferrum and U16: DHS 10–22 Ferrum.
The hockey boys gave supporters plenty to celebrate with two excellent victories. The 2nd team edged Ferrum 1–0 in a tightly contested match, while the 1st team claimed an exciting 4–2 win. The final game on the A-field for the matric class of 2026 made the occasion even more special.
The chess unfortunately lost the day and the hockey girls scores were: 1st team lost 1 – 0, second team drew 1 – 1 and both junior teams unfortunately lost their matches.
