Curro Hillcrest to host 2022’s biggest junior international tennis tournaments in Africa. Curro Holdings is proud to announce its all-encompassing involvement in this year’s two International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Tournaments, as both event host and sponsor, including the first ITF Junior 1 event to ever be held in South Africa. Joining forces with Tennis South Africa (TSA) yet again, Curro will kickstart the junior series with an ITF Junior 2 tournament at Curro Hillcrest in Durban between 23 and 30 July 2022. This will be followed by an ITF Junior 1 event at the same venue between 31 July and 6 August 2022, with both finals broadcasting live on SABC TV.

Unlike previous years, the 2022 junior tournaments have been converted to a higher grading, which in turn, has elevated both the calibre and rankings of the players involved. Hailing from all corners of the world, they will now descend on Durban to battle it out in what is widely punted as the Gold Standard competition in junior and professional tennis. Many of the previous winners have gone on to compete at the highest level internationally and ultimately become professionals after turning 18, which makes this event a one-to-watch for anyone with a keen interest in seeing top tennis talent in action.

As a champion of fostering young tennis talents, Curro has sponsored several tournaments in partnership with Tennis South Africa since 2015. However, this is the first time that they will be hosting the world-class ITF event at a Curro school, a decision that comes on the back of upgrades to their sporting facilities to ensure that international standards are met. “We are incredibly proud and excited to be hosting this international tennis event at a Curro school for the very first time. Curro aims to be one of the best schools for tennis development in South Africa so it goes without saying that tennis is a flagship sport in all our schools. It makes sense to bring the world’s top players here, and let them use our fantastic tennis facilities,” explains Jared Temlett, Operational Manager Curro Sport.

This year’s tournaments will see exceptional player hospitality packages, a more holistic spectator experience and a new food court and beer garden. To book your tournament experience, visit https://itickets.co.za/events/467976, and to find out more about the tournaments, visit https://www.facebook.com/currotennis. All 18 matches will be aired on Curro’s Sports YouTube channel.
