New Head Takes Over Reigns of Curro Durbanville High School

Curro Holdings, South Africa’s leading independent school group, is delighted to announce the appointment of Isa Swanepoel as the new Head of Curro Durbanville High School, effective January 2024.

Ms Swanepoel brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of excellence in education and leadership. She has been an integral part of the Curro community since 2014, serving as the Head of Learner Affairs at Curro Durbanville High School and making significant contributions to various aspects of school management.

Throughout her career, Swanepoel has held various key roles, including The Western Cape Independent Examination Board (IEB) Chairperson for History, and a National Subject Forum representative. Her dedication to education is evident in her roles as Senior History Cluster Liaison for Curro’s Curriculum Management Department, Diversity liaison for the Curro Durbanville campus, Head of Curro PM, and Subject Head of History.

Swanepoel’s impressive career in academia spans multiple schools and roles, including Head of History, Grade Head, and various teaching positions. She holds qualifications from reputable institutions such as the University of Cape Town and the University of Stellenbosch, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Commenting on her appointment, Riaan Stroebel, Executive Head of Curro Durbanville said, “The school is delighted by Ms Swanepoel’s appointment. Her selection reflects our school’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, innovative teaching methods, and a strong sense of community. We especially look forward to her leadership in further developing our in-house sports programmes, encouraging physical well-being amongst learners, and fostering a holistic approach to their development.”

Swanepoel also shared her excitement, stating, “I am exceptionally honoured and humbled by the trust placed in me to lead the school. I am determined to build on the school’s strong legacy and lead it from strength to strength.”
