On Friday, 21 October, Paul Roos Gymnasium, IS Art Gallery and Absa launched the Paul Roos Art Garden. The PRG Art Garden and Coffee Shop is a pop-up art exhibition that showcases sculptures by renowned local artists. Art collectors with a love of sculpture and garden art are invited to visit this special exhibition at the Markötter Sports Complex in Stellenbosch. The exhibition runs from Saturday 22 October till Sunday 30 October. It also serves as Paul Roos’s contribution towards Garden Town – an annual celebration of Spring and all things Garden, in Stellenbosch. It boasts with small to lifesize works by artists such as Cornelia Stoop, Wilma Cruise, Noria Mabasa, Robin Kitinyo, Egon Tania, Strijdom van der Merwe, Arno Morland and many more.

The exhibition includes beautiful decorative wall panels made by high school learners after participating in an upcycling workshop with Heath Nash and his team from Langa. These young ones learned how to make art out of used milk bottles – an initiative supported by the Rupert Museum. A portion of the income raised from all art sales will be allocated towards the Sponsor-a-Paul-Roos fund – a fund aimed at supporting learners from less-privileged households. Visiting hours: Monday (24 October) to Saturday (29 October): 10:00 – 16:00. Sunday (30 October): 09:00-14:00. For enquiries contact Luna Paige at  media@paulroos.co.za.
