In 2020 cycling was established as a sport at Ligbron Academy of Technology with a team of 29 boys. Five years later Ligbron Academy of Technology is proud to announce that they now also have a girls’ team, with Cherice Purcocks and Lelanie Bronkhorst as coaches.
The cycling club has built up quite a reputation over the past five years, not only for their excellent achievements on the track, but also for their clubhouse and cycling track on the school’s premises. Having a girls’ team is another milestone on their way to the top.
Every year the school participates in the XCO (cross-country Olympics), which is a provincial race. This is followed by the XCM (cross-country marathons) which focus on longer distances. In the second part of the year the school participates in the TWK schools’ league. Ligbron Academy of Technology is looking forward to excellent results the girls are going to achieve.
