Board Medals Highest Honour

A board medal is awarded to a Eunice girl only once in a specific category and is awarded only on the recommendation of a set board medal committee which meets annually and makes a recommendation to the full governing body for approval. Top recognition at national or international level in a recognized school cultural and/or sport activity at u/18 or more senior level OR any outstanding achievement, which brings honor to the school, can be considered for a board medal.

Gabrielle Venter: Awarded a Board medal for Golf.  Gaby was the

• Winner of the Boland Open Ladies Golf Tournament
• Winner of the Western Province Ladies Golf Tournament
• Winner of the South African U18 and under Girls Golf Tournament
• Winner of the International St Andrews Junior Ladies Open Golf Tournament in Scotland
• Number 1 ranked player for Junior and Senior Ladies Golf
• Junior and Senior Protea Colours for Golf

Kamohelo Khabele: Awarded a Board Medal for Tennis as member of the U21 Lesotho Tennis Team that participated in an International SADC Tennis Tournament

Luchelle Oosthuizen: Awarded a Board Medal for Swimming for winning 4 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze medals at the South African Senior National Swimming Championships.

• Won silver at the South African Short Course Swimming Championships in the Women’s 200m Butterfly
• Selected for the South African Swimming Team that will participate in the Zone 5 Games in Malawi in December 2022
• Won 2 gold and 3 silver medals at the South African Schools Swimming National Championships

Taheera Augousti: Awarded a Board Medal for Hockey for representing the South African U18 Hockey Team as well as the South African U21 Hockey Team that competed at the Women’s Inter Provincial Tournament.

• Best Midfielder at the South African Top 12 Hockey Tournament

  She was

• Selected for the FS U18 Hockey Team that won the Inter Provincial Tournament
• Was the Top Goal Scorer and Player of the Tournament at U18 Hockey Inter Provincial Tournament
• Selected for the FS U21 Hockey Team
• and awarded best striker at the U21 Inter Provincial Tournament

• Represented South Africa vs Namibia that won a 3 Game Test Series
• And was awarded Best Striker at the South African U21 Inter Provincial Hockey Tournament

Eunice’s best all-rounder in each grade is a highly sought-after honour awarded by a staff committee to a young lady, generally in the top 35 of her grades who best fits the profile in terms of ACHIEVEMENT in the fields of academics, sport, culture, leadership and service.

Grade 11:  Elke du Plessis: Winner of the Ashleigh Cooper Memorial Trophy for the Best All Rounder in  Grade 11 for her Academic Achievements, Five Sport Codes, Four Culture Contributions, One Service and Two Leadership Contributions. Elke is also the winner of the Emmaren Kleingeld Trophy,or the learner voted the greatest supporter of the year, as voted for by the school.
