Maritzburg College Choir wins GOLD! Our talented College Choir, under the baton of Mrs Joni Stickells, and with musical support from Mr Jacques Heyns, Mr Simon Stickells and our band, have once again won GOLD in the Open Section of the ATKV Applous Regional Choir Festival. This is an outstanding effort, especially considering the recent musical and drama involvement of many of the boys and staff. We now wait to hear if College has been selected to attend the National competition later in the year in Pretoria. Well done and thank you to all our boys and staff – we are so proud of you!

Old Boy:Congratulations to talented batsman, Johnathan van Zyl, Maritzburg College’s 1st XI captain for 2022, who has been named for the South African Men’s U19 team heading to Bangledesh from 3-18 July. Wising you all the best Jono – we will follow your progress with pride!

Hockey:Congratulations to the five talented #RedArmy hockey players selected for the Inland U18A team. Well done to N Holmes, K Dobeyn, I Mosupye, B Dlamini and P Dlamini. A further eight #RedBlackWhite hockey players have been selected for the Inland U18B side: R McKean, A Khumalo, A Zuma, U Dlamini, A Sithembu, S Ndlovu, J Konigkramer and B Brokensha An outstanding NINE boys have been selected for the Inland U16A team, and EIGHT for the Inland U16B!

Cycling:A huge congratulations to our #RedBlackWhite MTB cycling team who placed first out of all the schools participating in this year’s aQuellé Tour Durban. Super proud of you all – and thank you to the families who supported the boys, as well as our cycling MIC Mrs Kerry Bartholomew. Congratulations to Maritzburg College who are the 2023 winners of the aQuellé Tour Durban inter-schools competition. They narrowly beat the 2022 champion school, Hillcrest Primary School.
