Worcester Gymnasium graciously hosted the recent UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) Introduction Course, delivered by Focus Air Western Cape. The programme marked a significant milestone as a pilot initiative to introduce learners to drone technology, with direct alignment to the Western Cape Government (WCG) Growth for Jobs Strategy (G4J). The course was conducted over seven sessions, commencing in the week of 18 August. A total of 13 learners and two teachers successfully completed the training, passed the required examinations, and received certificates of competence. The training was presented by highly skilled professionals from Focus Air Western Cape, whose combination of strong theoretical knowledge and real-world experience ensured excellent delivery and learner engagement. The Focus Air Western Cape team provided encouraging feedback on the Worcester Gymnasium learners: “It was a privilege to engage with your learners, whose enthusiasm and interest in aviation and drone technology were both encouraging and inspiring.” We are proud of our learners and teachers for completing this course and adding to their skills development!
