Rising young talent, Ethan De Freitas, Grade 6, of The King’s School West Rand delivered an outstanding performance at the Redstar Racing Social Club Series, competing under the MSA Short Circuit GP on 28 March 2026. Riding for the EDF Racing Team, Ethan took to the track in the Junior Supermoto Class on his Husqvarna TC65.
Despite missing the opening round in Vereeniging earlier this year due to an ankle injury, Ethan made an impressive comeback in what was his first race of the 2026 season. Having not raced on the track for over two years and competing on his Husqvarna TC65 at that track for the very first time, he exceeded expectations with a dominant display.
Ethan set the tone early by securing pole position in qualifying and went on to win both heats convincingly. His standout performance in Heat 1 saw him finish more than seven seconds ahead of his competitors. He also recorded the fastest lap of the day with an impressive time of 57.706 seconds.
Capping off a perfect race day, he earned the maximum 50 points and took home R1000 in prize money. His remarkable achievement marks a strong start to the season and establishes him as a competitor to watch in the Junior Supermoto Class.
