Our Wembley College Head Boy from 2021 spoke to our HS scholars about how to reach their full potential. Qaphela Mzila is in his third year at UCT. He is studying Business Science with the intention of completing his CA.  Qaphela said, “Procrastination is often perceived as merely a thief of time, but it also hinders us from realising our full potential. To combat procrastination, one effective strategy is to break down large tasks into smaller, more manageable ones. We are all builders of our futures, much like a builder constructing a house. Instead of viewing the project as a daunting whole, the builder can see it as a series of smaller tasks, such as laying one brick at a time.  Similarly, don’t wait until the last moment to make significant decisions, such as choosing a career path. Start early by engaging in conversations with professionals from various fields. Gathering information now will leave you better informed when it’s time to decide.

Remember, the marks you receive do not define your worth. Avoid quick judgments based on grades. Most people who achieve greatness are not born with it; instead, they often approach tasks differently. Learn from them, adjust your methods, and always be open to learning.” Thank you for sharing your precious time with us. We wish you a successful year ahead.
