The Glenwood High School Old Boys Dinner was held on Friday 26 May 2023 in the School Hall. The event was well attended by a number of Old Boys, but we were especially proud to have with us Warren Clewlow, who matriculated in 1953, the oldest old boy at the event. Warren is still actively involved in supporting the school. Mr. Pierre Jacobs (Headmaster) welcomed everyone present and shared his vision for Glenwood. Michael Lohrentz (Class of 1979) encouraged old boys to reinvest in the school and use their skills and expertise to assist the school where possible.
Divesh Sookdeo (Class of 2009) was the Master of Ceremonies.
Ian Dwyer (Class of 1982) did a tribute to the Old Boys
The Guest Speaker was Dr Eduard Coetzee, CEO of the Sharks.
Liam Terblanche (Head Prefect 2023) made the toast to the Old Boys’ Association.
Mr John Knipe (Head Prefect 1973) toast to the country.
The “Loose Trio” consisting of Mr Hortop (1971 – present), Mr Hutchison (1975 – 2017), and Mr Jordan (1983 – present) did a panel discussion, hosted by Greg Conti (1993). A vote of thanks was done by the Old Boys’ Association Chairman, Nichols Tyler (Head Prefect 2000). A huge thank you to Bidvest for the scrumptious meal.
