The Penryn College campus came alive with school spirit this past weekend as our scholar athletes faced off against long-standing rivals, Stanford Lake College, in a high-energy derby that celebrated sportsmanship, skill, and unity across multiple disciplines. From the first whistle to the final point, Penryn College scholars showed heart and determination. The Rugby fields roared with dominance, with all three Penryn College Rugby teams putting on a thrilling display of athleticism and teamwork. The 1st team’s commanding performance drew a proud crowd response, a clear reflection of the hard work put in during training sessions.

On the courts, the Netball girls gave it their all in fiercely contested matches. While some games slipped away by narrow margins, others were proudly claimed with strong defensive plays and sharp shooting. Each team showcased resilience and a growing tactical maturity.Hockey supporters were treated to some nail-biting finishes. The boys and girls teams proved why Penryn College continues to grow as a powerhouse in the sport, with tightly contested draws, decisive wins, and spirited performances from every age group.Off the field, Penryn’s thinkers and public speakers made their mark too. Our Chess team outplayed their opponents in a strategic face-off, while the Debating team eloquently secured a win, proving that Penryn’s competitive edge extends far beyond just the sports grounds.Tennis matches were fast-paced and filled with energy, especially in the doubles where teamwork and court chemistry led to well-earned victories. The mixed doubles, in particular, stood out for their enthusiastic support and sharp rallies.

The derby wasn’t just about wins or scores — it was a celebration of both school’s sense of pride, camaraderie, and commitment. Across every sport, Penryn College scholars held their heads high, representing the College with grace, grit, and unshakable team spirit.
