Unity Day is always one of the highlights of the St Benedict School calendar but has had to be put on hold for the past two years due to COVID and social distancing. This year the school was able to resurrect the day and still comply with the most recent COVID protocols.
Unity Day was held on Friday and all the normal demands of the school day were put aside and time was spent getting to know other people in the school a little bit better.
This year the school adopted the theme of “We are SBS” and the day focused on the fact that together we are stronger. The day began and ended with a service in the Chapel Garden and the time in between was spent fostering closer relationships between the High School and Primary School pupils. Every High School class was assigned to a Primary School class and fun activities were planned, including musical chairs, Easter egg hunts, ball games and much more. The pupils also spent time together drawing and decorating their handprints which were then displayed on a huge board to remind them that they are what makes SBS special. As always, the day was a huge success and cemented the family ethos of the school.
