St Andrew’s Preparatory School marked its 139th birthday with joyous celebrations on Thursday, January 25, at the picturesque Fairlawn campus fields. The festive event brought together Preppies, administration staff, auxiliary staff, and teachers in a delightful atmosphere of camaraderie and school spirit. The highlight of the celebration was the distribution of cupcakes to the entire school, creating a sweet and memorable moment for each student. The sea of smiling faces displayed the unity and pride within the St Andrew’s Prep community.

Adding a touch of youthful exuberance to the festivities, one of our charming grade 1 boys led the entire assembly in the rendition of the birthday song. The melodic voices echoed across the Fairlawn campus, resonating with our school’s rich history and sense of togetherness. As part of the longstanding tradition, the birthday candles were lit in a symbolic ceremony by our oldest Preppie. The warm glow of the birthday candles symbolising the enduring spirit of St Andrew’s Preparatory School.

A heartwarming moment ensued as the two youngest Preppies, belonging to grade 0000, took centre stage to blow out the birthday candles. Their innocent enthusiasm brought an extra layer of charm to the event, encapsulating the essence of our school’s commitment to nurturing young minds. The event not only celebrated the rich history of St Andrew’s Prep but also highlighted its ongoing dedication to shaping the future leaders of tomorrow and continues to stand as a beacon of educational excellence in the Eastern Cape, and the 139th birthday celebration served as a testament to the school’s enduring legacy. The joyous occasion will undoubtedly linger in the hearts and memories of all who were fortunate enough to partake in the festivities.
