Pietersmaritzburg  Girls’ High School success is a wonderful reflection of the dedication and commitment they have shown throughout their training. Competing at provincial level requires strength, endurance and perseverance, and our paddlers demonstrated all three throughout the championships.

Congratulations to S’phesihle, Kailah and the entire Girls’ High canoeing team on their outstanding performances. A special thank you also goes to coach Wandile Luthuli for his guidance, encouragement and commitment to the team. We are incredibly proud of our canoeists for flying the GHS flag high!

Canoeing
Our Girls’ High canoeists showcased grit and determination at the KZN Marathon Canoeing Championships, held at Dudley Pringle Dam in Tongaat recently.. A standout achievement came from S’phesihle Dlamini and Kailah Naidoo, who were crowned KZN U18 K2 Champions, earning their first provincial championship medals. S’phesihle also completed her K1 race before teaming up with Kailah for the K2 event. Congratulations to the entire team and coach Wandile Luthuli for flying the GHS flag high.

Badminton

Well done to Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High’s Yuvana Sarupen who proudly represented the U17C KwaZulu-Natal badminton team at the South African Championships in Cape Town during the holidays. This opportunity provided her with invaluable exposure and experience at national level.

Soccer

● U14B: Strong wins against Alex (2–0) and St Anne’s (3–0).
● U15A: Wins against St Anne’s (2–0) and Epworth (2–1).
● U15B: Competitive results including a 2–2 draw with St Anne’s and a 2–1 win over Epworth.
