Creston College Educate and Fascinate show captivates children. On Tuesday, our children in the Pre-primary and Junior Primary had some very interesting visitors in the Hall. They enjoyed having some snakes, lizards and an iguana visit them. Thank you Uncle André from Educate and Fascinate for always providing such an informative and fun show. The children were absolutely captivated and learnt so much about reptiles.
Grade 3’s play with puppets
Aunty Melanie made hand puppets with the Grade 3’s. They each made a member of their family and presented an oral on them in Afrikaans.

Aunty Melanie did her practical in Grade 3 this week. She revised geometric patterns with the learners.
Grade 2 Achievers
Pictured with Mrs. Tarr are Grade 2 learners, Amelia Vancoillie and Braedyn Ringo with their medals that were presented to them in assembly this week. Braedyn received his KZN colours for Karate again and Amelia was awarded medals from the BOA Splash Galas.
World BEE Day
The Grade 3 children celebrated World Bee day on Saturday, 20 May!

Grade 3’s Maths
In Maths group lessons, the Grade 3s used a balancing scale to weigh objects which they then listed from heaviest to lightest. Another group worked in their Number Sense books and the group on the carpet looked at 3D shapes. They had to distinguish how many faces, vertices and edges on the shape they were given.
Robotics Unplugged
For Robotics the Grade 3 learners had an “unplugged” coding lesson where one learner coded, one moved and one debugged. This is when they get to spot mistakes in the coding.
Fire and Ice Orals Presented
The Grade 3 children presented wonderful orals via PowerPoint, models and posters for their Fire and Ice themed orals this week.

Hard work and commitment pays off for Zak Zak Wagner in Grade 7, competed in the JKA KZN provincial karate championships last Saturday and was awarded 2 gold medals. This is the first time he has been awarded gold. The 1st for Kumite and the 2nd for Kata. He has now gone through to the JKA National Championships for the 2nd time and has been invited to participate in the Africa Cup as well – both are in Johannesburg in July. Zak has worked incredibly hard to get to this point and was extremely committed.
Weather forecast lesson for Gr 4’s For our theme “The weather” grade 4s presented the weather forecast in isiZulu.
Final rugby game for the under 13 boys for this season. The under 13 Rugby Team played their last game of the season yesterday against Kokstad. The boys played their hearts out and the spectators thoroughly enjoyed the game.

Hockey Girls Triumph
Our 1st team hockey girls played Geloftes and won their game 1-0. Nallah, the matric teddy, supporting her family members, the matrics, as they write exams.
Student representative council (SRC)
The members of the SRC are elected annually by the students. They serve as the voice of the learner body, advocate for the rights and interests of learners and provides leadership development opportunities. A shoutout to our SRC members to thank them for their efforts in their roles and duties they perform.
Grade 8 Statues
The Grade 8 Dramatic Arts learners have been doing a module on statues and street theatre. As part of the module, they dressed up as famous people and pretended to be wax statues in a museum. These photos are of 8E1.
