Westering High School learner excels in judo

Westering High School are incredibly proud of Ayabulela Gwama for her outstanding achievements in judo! Our star, Ayabulela was selected to represent South Africa at the Cadets & Juniors Africa Championships held in Luanda, Angola, where 14 African countries and more than 125 cadets competed! She was placed 6th in her category, performing strongly against a very high standard of competition.
In December, Ayabulela was once again selected to represent the country at the 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐥𝐚, where she had the incredible honour of serving as a flag bearer at the opening ceremony! She competed well and reached the quarter-finals, another fantastic achievement on the international stage. Continuing her success into 2026, Ayabulela has made the EP Judo team and is currently awaiting her results from the SA Trials.
