Congratulations to Vredenburg High School 2025 Prize Winners!  On 17 October, we celebrated excellence, hard work, and dedication at our annual Grade 12 Prizegiving.   A heartfelt congratulations to every learner who received academic, cultural, and sporting awards — your achievements reflect not only your effort, but also your pride in being part of Vredenburg High School.  We are proud of each of you — from subject prize recipients to our trophy winners, honorary colours achievers, and Top 3 grade performers.
Prize Winners:

Chané Bester

Waltons Floating Trophy: Outstanding cultural achievement by a learner.

Achievements:

  • Subject prize:  English First Additional Language.
  • Played lead roles in Annie, Cindy and Lefty.
  • Winner of VHS Got Talent.
  • 3 years of loyal and excellent participation in Drama.

Thiedu du Preez

Daantjie le Roux Floating Trophy:  Best Golfer of the Year.

Achievements:

  • Subject prize:  Afrikaans Huistaal.
  • Gold certificates – Photography Portfolio Gr.12 and Fine Arts Drawing Gr.12 (National Eisteddfod of South Africa).
  • Certificate of Commendation – Never Such Innocence International Poetry, Art, Speech and Song Competition.
  • 5-year service certificate in the Book Store.

Zaydilee Klaaste

Gerhard Schoonees Floating Trophy:  Highest average in Physical Sciences.

Gerrit Agenbag Floating Trophy (shared):  Highest average in Mathematics.

Ponté Haupt Shield (Dux – Academics):  Top Academic Achiever of Grade 12, 2025.

Achievements:

  • Subject prizes: Afrikaans Huistaal, English FAL, Life Orientation, Accounting, Engineering Graphics & Design, Physical Sciences and Mathematics.
  • 2nd Best Achievement in Accounting – Cash Prize from FODB Inc.
  • Vouchers from Spar Stoneridge Mall and Blikkies Pizzeria Stoneridge Mall for top performance.
  • Overall Dux learner for 2025 – awarded for academic excellence and dedication.

Adrian Muller

Afrikaans Huistaal Floating Trophy:  Highest average in Afrikaans Home Language (Gr.12).

Achievements:

  • Subject prizes: Afrikaans Huistaal, English FAL, Life Orientation, Computer Applications Technology, Physical Sciences and Mathematics.
  • Gold certificate – English Literature: Essay (West-Boland Eisteddfod).

Lucia Abrahams

Brandon Brand Floating Trophy: Best Grade 12 Netball Player.

Achievements:

  • Member of the First Netball Team for 2 consecutive years.

Elrick Appollis

VHS Floating Trophy:  Best Senior Boys Hockey Player.

Achievements:

  • Active senior hockey player showing consistent commitment and excellence.

Benir Rukera

Holmes Trust Floating Trophy:  Best Athlete of the Year.

Achievements:

  • Gold medal – Boland Athletics (800m).
  • 4th place – Western Cape Athletics.
  • Recognized as one of the school’s top track athletes.

Keoratile Khoabane

VHS Floating Trophy:  Best Boys Athlete of the Year.

Holmes Trust Floating Trophy:  Best Boys Field Athlete of the Year.

Achievements:

  • Silver medal – Boland High Jump.
  • Bronze medal – Western Cape High Jump Event.

Amahle Qawuka

Vredenburg Motors Floating Trophy:  Cheerleader of the Year.

Achievements:

  • Silver certificate – English HL Poetry (West-Boland Eisteddfod).
  • Active participant and motivator in school spirit activities.

Austin Prins

Tiekie de Kock Floating Trophy:  Best Senior Bowler.

Piet Schreuder Floating Trophy:  Best Senior Cricket Player.

Achievements:

  • Outstanding bowler and cricket player for the senior teams, recognized for leadership and consistency.

Sange Phato

Snyman Floating Trophy:  Highest mark in English Home Language (Writing) by a Grade 12 learner.

Achievements:

  • Subject prizes: Afrikaans EAT, Life Orientation, Business Studies and History.
  • Technical Team member – Annie, Cindy, and Lefty.
  • Voucher from Spar Stoneridge Mall for English HL Writing achievement.

Nazzli Clarke

Oldfield Shield:  Best u/19 Girls Hockey Player.

Pikkie Oosthuizen Floating Trophy:  Best Sport Achievement (Gr.12).

Bertus Pienaar Floating Trophy:  Senior Sports Girl of the Year.

Achievements:

  • Subject prizes: English HL, Afrikaans EAT, Life Orientation, Computer Applications Technology, Engineering Graphics & Design, Physical Sciences, and Mathematics.
  • Best achievement in Computer Applications Technology (shared) – Gift from Mad-Tech.
  • Best in Engineering Graphics and Design – Cash prize from Books24.
  • Head Girl 2025: Voucher from Weskus Dinamiese Dames – Exceptional leadership by a Grade 12 female learner.
  • Selected for Boland u/18 IPT B-Hockey Team (also earned Honorary Colours for Hockey).

VHS Floating Trophy:  Best Senior Orator.

Ernst Hugo Trophy:  Best Cultural Achievement (Gr.12).

“Silwer Valke” Floating Trophy:  Dux – Versatility (Academics, Culture, Sport & Leadership).

Achievements:

  • Subject prizes: English HL, Afrikaans EAT, Geography, Life Sciences and Life Orientation.
  • Stage Manager – Annie, Cindy, and Lefty.
  • ATKV Public Speaking Finalist and SALA National 3rd Place.
  • Certificate of Recognition – Saldanha Bay Youth Council (2024/2025).
  • 3rd Place – South African Literature Association Competition.

Femnet Floating Trophy: Highest sustained average (≥75%) in Life Sciences for Grades 10–12.

Achievements:
