Volksrust High School hockey teams took to the field against Sarel Cilliers High School, delivering a day of exciting matches filled with teamwork, determination, and skill. The girls’ teams put on a dominant display, securing impressive victories across the board, while the boys showed resilience and sportsmanship despite tough opposition.
Girls’ Teams:
- U/14 Girls: A fantastic attacking performance saw the team secure a 6-0 victory! The players displayed excellent teamwork and determination. Player of the Match: Amahle Luvuno for her outstanding contribution on the field.
- U/15 Girls: With great offensive play and solid defense, the team claimed a 5-2 win! Player of the Match: Kayleigh Olivier, for her skillful performance and leadership.
- U/16 Girls: It was a tight and competitive match, but our girls held their ground to claim a 1-0 victory. Player of the Match: Tshepo Luthuli for her crucial performance in securing the win.
- 2nd Team Girls: A dominant display of hockey skills saw them cruise to a 6-0 win, proving their strength on the field. Player of the Match: Asanda Sibiya for her excellent play and composure.
- 1st Team Girls: A hard-fought battle, with our girls securing a well-deserved 1-0 victory! Player of the Match: Jasmine van Staden, who played a key role in the win.
Boys’ Teams:
- 1st Team Boys: Despite a tough match, the boys fought hard but lost 2-0 against a strong Sarel Cilliers side. Player of the Match: Nhlakanipho Gwebu for his dedication and effort throughout the game.
- U/16 Boys: This was a challenging game, with the team going down 5-0, but they showed great perseverance and never gave up. Player of the Match: Rudi Erasmus for his determined performance.
