Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School Hockey Heroes Make Their Mark. The GHS hockey teams showed grit and determination across the codes in all their fixtures last week. The U.14A’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Riverwood College and the 1st Team’s 2-0 triumph highlighted both skill and teamwork from the girls. Congratulations to the U.14B’s on their 2-0 win against Wykeham Collegiate, highlighting our commitment to build depth and resilience across all age groups.
Netball nets Big Wins
GHS secured a string of netball victories against Epworth with the U.14A, U.14B, U.15A, and U.16A
teams all delivering wins. Derby Day against Danville brought further excitement, with the U.14A
team clinching a 13-9 win, a testament to both teamwork and spirit.
Rising Rugby Stars
Well done to the four GHS players, Minenhle Hadebe, Zukiswa Zuma, Tristen Lewis, and Atandwa
Mseleku, who have all earned selection for the KZN Inland U16 rugby team as part of the Winter
Games process. Their achievement reflects not only individual excellence but also the growing
footprint of girls’ rugby at GHS.

Congratulations to the GHS squash team who swept their opponents with a 12-0 victory, and to the
chess team who claimed overall success with a 5.5-4.5 win against Danville Park Girls’ High,
