Gene Louw Primary’s 2022 Spelling Bee

On Wednesday, 16 March at 16:15, Gene Louw Primary had their second annual Spelling Bee Competition for the Grade 7 learners. The participants were very well prepared for the competition and many of them stayed in the competition for the first five rounds. There were seven contestants left out of 21 when they entered the unseen words round. After a nail-biting round of interesting unseen words, the top three spellers emerged as the winners.

Grade 6 winners:
- 1st place – Caileigh Thomas
- 2nd – Liam Van Vuuren
- 3rd – Tyler Morilly
On Thursday, 17 March at 18:00, it was the Grade 6’s turn. There were only three contestants left out of 21 when they entered the unseen words round. It was a tough battle until the end, but they managed to secure a winner for 2022.
Grade 7 winners:
- 1st place – Laila Garcia
- 2nd place – Wikus Visser
- 3rd place – Emily Grové
These six winners are through to their interschools Spelling Bee that will take place in the second term. Congratulations!
