Felixton College Junior Primary learners were treated to a special learning experience with Lisa and Pieter Visagie, who visited with her guide dog to talk about the important role these incredible animals play in the lives of people with visual impairments.
Learners learned how to recognise a guide dog, when and how to interact respectfully and how guide dogs help their handlers navigate the world.
Each child received a biscuit treat after the session; a sweet end to a meaningful moment of learning.
Experiences like these build empathy, awareness and curiosity. We love to grow these values in our learners.
