On Friday, 24 October, our Class of 2025 marked a special milestone with a heartfelt farewell event – the inaugural Matric Walk at St Charles College. Designed to give our Sixth Form a meaningful send-off, this first-of-its-kind occasion was both symbolic and celebratory.
The boys gathered outside Pennefather House before walking down Harwin Road, where they opened the gates leading out of the school, a gesture symbolising their departure. They then opened the gates outside the Coach House, signifying their transition into the Old Boys Association.

The atmosphere was festive as the rest of the school lined Harwin Road, applauding the boys as they made their way to the Coach House lawn. Once there, Mr Holcomb delivered a short speech thanking the boys and their parents for their contributions to the College. Ujjval Nirghin presented a gift on behalf of the Class of 2025, a fundraising initiative that, with future contributions from other years, will help create a dedicated Matric area for break times. To conclude the event, Rico Honiball cut a celebratory cake, and everyone enjoyed delicious snacks while mingling. The boys then rang the bell and received their testimonials. It was a memorable occasion, one that we hope will become a cherished tradition for years to come. – Mrs Claire Beckedahl (Head of Sixth Form)
