It gives us great pleasure to announce that Fr Deneys Williamson has been appointed as our new school Chaplain as of 1 January 2026. He is well known amongst our school community as he is currently the parish priest of St John Paul II, Linmeyer.

Fr Deneys was born in Johannesburg in 1986 to a Catholic family. He is the eldest of three siblings and attended St David’s Marist Inanda. After obtaining a degree in Liberal Arts and working as a teacher at St Benedict’s College, he felt called by God to serve as a priest for the church of Johannesburg. He subsequently entered the seminary and completed theological studies in Rome, graduating with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Theology.

He was ordained a priest in 2016 and was first assigned as curate at St John Apostle Catholic Church in Florida before being appointed as the parish priest of St John Paul II.His other ministerial roles have been the involvement in the process of beatification and canonisation of the couple Danny and Domitilla Hyams, who could become the first married saints in South Africa. He is further a lecturer in Theology at the national Seminary. We are sure you will join us in welcoming Fr Deneys to our Marist Brothers Linmeyer community.
