Curro Durbanville tennis players did exceptionally well

Curro Durbanville did exceptionally well in the WP league:

  • Girls 2nd team, won 3 and lost 1 match.
  • Boys 2nd team, won all 3 matches.
  • Girls 1st team, won all 5 matches.
  • Boys 1st team, won 4 matches and lost 1.

Curro took part in several school tournaments:

  • Both 1st teams won Top Schools Tennis Tournament.
  • Curro played in the Tjaart Vorster Tournament in Cradock. The boys team placed 8th and the girls team placed 2nd.
  • Curro hosted their annual CR van der Merwe Tennis Tournament. Boys and girls 1st teams did exceptionally well. Girls placed 3rd and the boys 2nd and Gareth Ingesund were the best boys player of the tournament.

Curro has several WP players:

  • Emma Pheiffer, Sagen Hugo and Mia Kotzé are in the Interprovincial team.
  • Ruven Schoeman, Maria Inggs, Sagen Hugo, Henry Shaw, Michael Shaw and Nina Silva played in the Cape Town team against other regions.

National player

  • Gareth Igesund is selected for the National team. He also participated in several ITF tournaments. Gareth played in the doubles finals in Durban and placed 2nd. He also played in the single finals in Bloemfontein and placed 2nd.
