Congratulations to Crawford International Ruimsig Archery Star Caitlyn Paige Edwards, our talented #Grade9 Crawfordian at Crawford International Ruimsig, has achieved incredible success in archery this year! After just over a year in the sport and only her first year of competing, Caitlyn’s determination and skill have earned her multiple podium finishes:

• Silver at National Archery Championship
• Silver at the Indoor Archery Competition
• Gold at the Gauteng Provincial World Archery Indoor Champs

 Nationals (October 12th, 2024) – Silver Medal

• Event: National Archery Championship
• Details: This is a prestigious event where archers from across the country compete. It showcases the best talent in archery at a national level. Competitors shoot at various distances, depending on their age group and skill category. Earning a silver medal here is a significant achievement, placing Caitlyn among the top archers in South Africa!

Indoor Competition (September 14th, 2024) – Silver Medal

• Event: Indoor Archery Competition
• Details: Indoor archery is typically shot over a shorter distance, often 18 meters. The target is smaller than outdoor competitions, and the focus is on precision. Indoor competitions are highly competitive, with archers needing to shoot extremely accurately due to the smaller target face. Caitlyn’s silver medal shows her excellent ability in a controlled, high-pressure environment.

Gauteng Provincial World Archery Indoor Championships (September 15th, 2024) – Gold Medal

• Event: Gauteng Provincial World Archery Indoor Champs
• Details: This event is part of the World Archery federation’s indoor series, focused on short-range precision shooting. The Gauteng Provincial Champs is a regional event, where Caitlyn competed against the best in her province and took home gold! This indicates she’s one of the top archers not just in her school, but in the entire Gauteng province.

All Events Shot at Marks Park

• Location: Marks Park Sports Club, Johannesburg, is a well-known venue for archery events in South Africa. The park hosts a variety of sports, including archery competitions, and provides a challenging environment for archers to showcase their skills.

Archery Club – Boskruin Archers

• Caitlyn trains with Boskruin Archers, a reputable archery club known for producing competitive archers. This club plays a key role in developing Caitlyn’s skills and preparing her for competitions.

In just over a year of archery practice and her first competitive season, Caitlyn has demonstrated her talent and determination by excelling at both provincial and national levels. These results are a reflection of her hard work and the excellent support of her coaches and club, we are so proud!
