Christ Church Prep and College Netball Star Selected for SA U.19 Netball Team

Christ Church College Grade 11 pupil and captain of the 1st team netball, Elmarie Vusieka, was selected for the South African U.19 indoor netball team that will participate in the world cup in Brisbane, Australia, in 2023. Elmarie (16) captained the U.19 Central Gauteng team at the inter-provincial tournament from 31 March to 4 April 2022. This year Elmarie, also trialled for the Gauteng U.16 team, but was instead selected for the final trials in the U.19 age group.
Netball is Elmarie’s passion, and she has many achievements including making the Central Gauteng U.16 team, the Johannesburg Netball Association U.19A team, the GSS U.16 team and she was selected in the top 30 players in South Africa. When asked about all her achievements and the prospect of representing her country, Elmarie said, “I am grateful for every opportunity I’ve been given. I thank God for the talents He has given me and is allowing me to pursue. I thank all my teammates, coaches and especially my mom, who has sacrificed a lot – none of my achievements would have been possible without them.”
