Cannons Creek receives top recognition at Matric Results of 2025 Awards Ceremony

During the WCED Matric 2025 Results Awards Ceremony on 29 January 2026, Cannons Creek Independent School was awarded first place for small schools (enrolment of fewer than 80 candidates) in the Western Cape for the 2025 NSC exams. Furthermore, the school’s top Matriculant Ciaran Steenveld came fifth in the province, and received an award for excellent achievement. He achieved an average of 95,2% excluding IEB Further Studies Mathematics, and was the 2025 Dux Learner. Ciaran will be studying Applied Mathematics at UCT. These awards were handed out at the at Western Cape Premier, Alan Winde’s home.
“I am incredibly proud of the Class of 2025, and the village that got them there. A special congratulations to Ciaran – his outstanding achievement speaks to his abilities and commitment,” said Mr Angus Morton (High School Principal).
