Welcome Back, Ms Rose-Anne Lyon! Volksrust High School is delighted to welcome Ms Rose-Anne Lyon back to its teaching staff. As a former learner and previous educator at the school, her return marks a special full-circle moment.

After matriculating from Volksrust High School, Ms Lyon completed a B.A. in Media Studies (Journalism) at the University of the Free State, followed by a Postgraduate Certificate in Education through UNISA. Her career has spanned journalism, communications, publishing, and education, including roles as a journalist, media and communications coordinator at a national teachers’ union, and most recently as a content writer and editor for an online educational publisher, where she created and edited educational resources for teachers across South Africa.

Ms Lyon now returns to Volksrust High School to teach English Home Language, bringing with her a wealth of industry and classroom experience. Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about language, communication, and education. Her background in journalism, communications, and educational publishing has given her a unique perspective on teaching and learning, enabling her to bring real-world knowledge, creativity, and practical skills into her classroom.

Ms Lyon is excited to reconnect with the Volksrust High School community, work alongside dedicated colleagues, and inspire learners to develop a love for language, literature, and critical thinking. She is honoured to return to the school where her own educational journey began and looks forward to contributing to its continued tradition of excellence. We warmly welcome Ms Lyon back to the Volksrust High School family and wish her every success in this exciting new chapter.
