York High 2021 Grade 12’s achieve excellent results. York was very much in evidence at the Eden and Central Karoo Awards Ceremony for 2021. Ludolph Pedro and Sam Leggatt blew the audience away with their piano solos while artworks from our Matric learners featured prominently in the foyer. York received a Certificate of Excellence while 3 of our learners were in the top 12 in the entire district:

• David Yon, deputy Head boy 2021 is York’s top achiever with an 93,4% average. This result placed him 3^rd in the district
• Johann Wahl achieved an average of 92,4% which placed him 4^th in the district
• Johann also achieved the best result in Mathematics in the district and the top results in CAT in the Western Cape.
• Cayla Botes achieved 8^th place in the district.
• Liyema Nyobole was the top achiever in Dance Studies in the district.
• Lien-Cheng Lan was the top achiever in Mandarin in the district.

We also recently received the results of the National Research Foundation’s Physical Science Olympiad. David Yon achieved a 2nd place in the Western Cape and 4th in the Country. We are extremely proud of these learners!
