Could the world’s next comedy and performance icon be walking the halls of St Dominics Newcastle right now?All eyes are on our very own Head Boy for 2025, Nhlanhlenhle (Steve) Mtshali, who has just blown audiences away at the Newcastle Eisteddfod with a perfect 100% score for his English monologue, “Just a boy.”The judges didn’t hold back their praise, declaring:

“A new Trevor Noah coming up! Oh, you are simply the best of the whole Eisteddfod. I loved this!!”

To top it off, Steve walked away with the ultimate honour – Triple Gold – cementing his place as one of the brightest talents to ever grace the stage. His performance left the adjudicators and audience spellbound, earning him standing ovations and admiration across the board.

From leadership in the classroom to brilliance on stage, Steve is proof that with passion, dedication, and courage, young South Africans can achieve greatness. His success is not only a personal triumph, but also an inspiration to his peers, showing what is possible when talent meets hard work.
