Last week the IES Blouberg International School InterSEK team returned home from InterSEK Cultural 2025 in Costa Rica, beaming with pride for having won numerous medals in different categories of the competition:

  • Gold – Duo Dance Competition
  • Gold – Wooden Car Race
  • Silver – International Gastronomy

This event is hosted once a year at one the IES/SEK schools around the world and the theme alternates between a cultural or sport competitions.

The memories and friendships made, experiencing the diversity and internationality is a unique opportunity that students have at IES Blouberg International School.

This year’s event was very well organised by SEK Costa Rica with live streaming and many shared moments on social media. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our sister school for welcoming our team of students and our liaison teacher Mrs. Robertson and for making this event such a great success.

The team will have several opportunities to share their experiences with fellow students and hopefully inspire many to sign up for next year’s InterSEK programme.

A programme like this not only enables our students to make new friends, gain confidence, and collaborate with others, but also exemplifies our commitment as an international school and prepares them to become global citizens.
