Swellendam High School’s English excursion to Artscape

On Monday, 14 April, the matriculants – with English First Additional Language as a subject – got the opportunity to travel to the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town. The students went there to watch the legendary Athol Fugard drama “My Children! My Africa”. The students stated that the actors were exceptional and the ability to watch the performance enhanced their knowledge of the drama. The following day on 15 April, a total of 18 English Home Language students, consisting of grade 11 and 12 learners, departed to Artscape to watch “Hamlet”, a renowned Shakespeare play. According to the students, the play was phenomenal.
