On Thursday, 15 May, six talented Swellendam High School grade 11 learners proudly represented our school at the Drostdy English Speech Competition, hosted by the Drostdy Museum. The event featured 11 young speakers from different schools, all competing against each other. They discussed several topics surrounding museums, especially in our modern era. Two of our learners snagged a place in the Top 3 :Esinako Qotwiye, who achieved a second place, and Juhan du Toit, who secured a third place. These proud speakers advance to the second round and will compete against the Overberg’s best speakers later in the year. Congratulations to all our learners who competed.Petri du Toit
