St Dominic’s Primary School and High School have made their mark in the Gauteng Provincial Championships, winning overall in their respective sections. The schools’ majorette teams showcased exceptional skill, creativity, and teamwork, impressing the crowd with their displays. The Primary School team – “The Saintees” – led by Grade 7 students Aphiwe Ngcobo and Gianna Bussack, demonstrated remarkable talent and precision. Meanwhile, the Senior School team, affectionately known as the Saints, is led by Grade 12 student Elizabeth Chimedza.

Their coaches, Alisha Venter, Matthew Higgs, Natalie Brink, Zoe Pretorius, and Rabi Mobeng, deserve special mention for their dedication and innovative approach. The team’s creativity and displays left the audience in awe. This impressive performance in the Gauteng Provincial Championships, held on June 7, has qualified the teams for the national championships, which will be hosted by the South African Majorette and Cheerleading Association (SAMCA) in the Western Cape in the first week of July. With their momentum and talent, St Dominic’s teams are poised to make a strong showing at the nationals.
