Rand Park High School Matric Valediction

Rand Park High School’s Matric Class of 2024 spent most of their first year of high school in lockdown and have been fondly referred to as our Covid Babies ever since. Despite that rocky start to their high school journey, they have displayed perseverance and the ability to rise above obstacles to achieve the wonderful results that were celebrated at this year’s Valediction on 15 October. The main awards presented to the Class of 2024 were:
- Dux Scholar and the Mayor’s Trophy: Nethra Yathavan
- Maximo Cum Honore: Khanyisile Siluma and Nethra Yathavan
- The Sharon Hale Trophy for Cultural Excellence: Tristan Smith
- Sports Person of the Year: Hannah Charles
- The Frewin Trophy for Achievement Through Endeavour: Megan Freese
- The Eric Crawford Trophy for Good Citizenship: Tyler McKeown
- The Rand Park High School Trophy for Development in Qualities of Leadership: Neyushan Govender and Raymond Ohanya
- Esprit de Corps Award for Co-operation, Participation and Dedication to the interests of the school: Mmile Lehloenya and Nicholas Pitout
- The MacKenzie Trophy for Esprit de Corps: Cayla Willemse
The Class of 2024 has proven that every setback is an opportunity to learn and grow and that their futures are bright and their potential is limitless. We wish the matriculants all the best for their future endeavours: remember to believe in yourselves, stay curious and embrace the unknown because the world needs your passion, creativity and energy.
