Annual Matric Awards Assembly Celebrates Excellence and Perseverance. St Dominic’s School hosted its highly anticipated Matric Awards Assembly on 9 October, recognizing the outstanding achievements of its Grade 12 students based on their Term II results. The prestigious event, attended by students, teachers, parents, and guests, showcased the school’s commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and community service. St Dominic’s School continues to uphold its tradition of excellence, nurturing well-rounded individuals who make a difference.

• Gift of the Gab:  Awarded to the matriculant who has excelled at Debating and Public Speaking. This is for a young lady who has proved her progress in Public Speaking, excelling in regional festivals and internal competitions from grade 8 to matric. This year the gift of the gab goes to:Ntsako Baloyi
• Booyens Trophy for the Top Artist in FET phase from 2022 to 2024. The top artist for 2024 , congratulations to Lianke McDonald.
• Grade 12 Creative Writing Trophy.  This is awarded to a young lady whose use of words and images in her creative writing has consistently proved to be magical in all her writing, having a great impact.  This year the creative writing trophy goes to – Rearabilwe Setou.
• B Cacho memorial trophy for Languages (3 languages).This year the Best in namely English, Afrikaans and French.Sandiselwe Zwane
• Estia Sales Maths Trophy: awarded to the matriculant who shows the most progress in Mathematics. The maths teachers are very proud of this young lady. She works really hard, and is always asking Mrs Adams and Mrs van Rooyen for help. She is determined to achieve the marks she is capable of. Congratulations goes to Ntsako Baloyi.
• Young Trophy for excellence in Accounting in her Matric year. Congratulations to Talia Farinha.
• Einstein Trophy for Mathematics and Science. Awarded to the matriculant who obtains top Physical Science and Mathematics marks. Funi Tshikororo
• Olympiad Trophy This year the Olympiad Trophy is awarded to a young lady for her  participation in the  Business Studies and English Olympiads.  She obtained a silver award for her English Olympiad. Congratulations to Babantle Montle.
• The Juliette Calaça Trophy for Most Courteous Matric This young lady has impeccable manners – she is polite, courteous and never forgets to say thank you with a friendly smile for everyone.  This year the award for the most courteous matric goes to Rearabilwe Setou.
• Kelsey Holden Leadership Trophy To any matric who has shown leadership qualities through her actions, spirit and attitude & has gone above and beyond the call of duty & has served as a good example to the school. Congratulations goes to Thandanani Mtshali
• The Dudley Trophy for the Best all round matric: Excellent Achievement in Academics, Sport, Cultural and Hospitality.   Congratulations to  Ntsako Baloyi
• Principal’s Award The Principal’s Award is awarded to a girl that embraces the spirit of St Dominic’s.  She is not necessarily a member of the executive or an achiever academically, culturally or in sport. Instead, she has a positive attitude, is hard-working and has perseverance, often in difficult circumstances. She has a smile on her face and is always willing to help.
