Ligbron Academy of Technology came out tops at the Gert Sibande District Prize-giving Ceremony, held last Thursday. Both teachers and learners were rewarded for their hard work during 2023, which culminated in excellent results. The greatest accolade the school received was the award for the Best Performing School in the district. Several teachers were rewarded for the best academic achievements in their subjects. These subjects include Mathematics, Physical Science, Business Studies, Tourism and English Home Language. Amongst the grade 12’s, Fatimah Mogaliah received the award for the top achiever in Business Studies. Zahra Gardee is the top achiever in English Home Language. Fatimah, Zahra, Asiphesona Soyeye, Praise Ngobeni and Maseeha Bhagalia are all ranked under the Top 30 academic achievers in the district, with Fatimah being in third position.

Elandri Kleynhans

Elandri Kleynhans, one of the Top 20 grade 11 academic achievers in the district, also received a certificate for her excellent results at the end of 2023. The school also got recognition on provincial level. Ligbron ranks fourth in Mpumalanga for their 2023 matric results. The school also has the highest averages for Geography and Mathematics in the Mpumalanga.
