Saldanha Bay Municipality inaugurated its seventh Youth Council at a special ceremony held at the White City Multi-Purpose Centre in Saldanha on Friday, 16 June 2023. The Youth Council will serve the youth of our municipal area, work together with youth orientated organisations to address issues relating to peer pressure, substance abuse and school drop-out rate. The elected Youth Councillors are a fair representation of all wards in the Saldanha Bay Municipal area and attend high schools within our municipal towns. As the Executive Mayor of Saldanha Bay Municipality, I welcome the new Youth Council and I wish them well for their 2023/24 term of office. The Junior Mayor is Daniella van Niekerk, the Junior Speaker is Willmore Daries, the Junior Deputy Mayor is Timina Mondile and the Junior Deputy Speaker is Palesa Theletsane. Vredenburg High School are proud of them.
