On Thursday the 24th of February a few of our athletes took part in the Amathole Athletics that were held in East London. They gave their best, and two of our athletes excelled in their respective events.

  • Andrew Wessels (boys U13) came first in the 100m, 200m and in long jump.
  • Tyler Leon (boys U13) came first in shotput and second in high jump.

We asked our two athletes for a short piece on how they experienced the day.

  • Andrew Wessels: Dit was ‘n verrassing toe ek hoor dat ek eerste gekom het vir verspring, want ek het amper nooit vir verspring geoefen nie. Ek is baie bly oor my vordering in die laaste jaar.
  • Tyler Leon: It was stressful and I was worried, but I tried my best and I came first and second in my events. I enjoyed it.

Fort Beaufory Primary School would like to congratulate their athletes and wish them the best for the EP Championships which will take place on the 11th and 12th of March in Cradock.
