Swimming – Kaden Rennie

Congratulations to Kaden Rennie from Edenvale High School. He recently swam in the EGA Short Course Senior Winter Championships and came away with some great results.

He entered into 10 events and made finals for all 10 events. Out of the 10 events, he achieved 8 Personal Best Times with two of the times qualifying him for SA Junior Regionals at this stage.

He came away with 7 medals for Men 16 years old:

• Gold – 50m Breaststroke
• Gold – 100m Breaststroke
• Gold – 200m Breaststroke
• Bronze – 100m Freestyle
• Bronze – 200m Freestyle
• Bronze – 50m Butterfly
• Bronze – 100m Butterfly

Rugby – Caitlin Norie

Congratulations to Caitlin Norie, a grade 11 learner from Edenvale High School, who has been selected for the U18 Golden Lions Youth Rugby side.

Karate – Leonardo and Mary Hambardzumyan

Well done to Mary and Leonardo Hambardzumyan in Grade 10 at Edenvale High School who recently competed in the Karate South Africa League!

Mary achieved silver in kumite at the National School Championship representing Edenvale High and bronze in team kumite at the KSA Elite League.

Leonardo achieved silver in kumite at the National School Championship, bronze in individual and bronze in team kumite at the KSA Elite League.

Kata – Ciara Harrison

Congratulations to Ciara, a Grade 11 learner at Edenvale High School. She took part in the Kimura Shukokai International (KSI) nationals last Saturday. Her unison kata team won bronze and she was awarded a silver medal in individual kata.

Mountain Biking – Zoe Zwicker

Well done to Zoe Zwicker who achieved 1st place in the 1440 mountain bike 6 hour solo challenge. Zoe completed 11 5km laps.

Hockey – Caden De Matos

Congratulations to Caden De Matos, a grade 10 learner at Edenvale High School. Caden was selected to tour with the ECHS U18 Hockey Boys team. The team recently toured to the Netherlands. Caden was also selected to be the captain of this team. This is an incredible achievement!

Dance – Daniella Atkins

Congratulations to Daniella Atkins, a grade 9 learner at Edenvale High School, who participated in the East Rand Dance Festival on 25 October. She participated in the ballet solo- 15 and under 19 novice. Daniella was awarded an A+ and was named the winner.
