Durban Girls’ High School Mini Prize giving colours and half colours awarded

Congratulations to Durban Girls’ High School learners who achieved awards for the commitment they have shown and the excellence they have achieved in various spheres.
Action Netball:
Sybriel Munsamy was awarded Half Colours for representing KZN in the U15B KZN Action Netball Team.
Khanya Mtyobile and Tamieka Wessels were selected to be in the U16A KZN Action Netball Team that represented the province in the national IPTs and for their achievement they were awarded Half Colours.
Melo Mhkize and Kaitlyn Oakes were awarded Half Colours for being selected to be part of the U16B KZN Action Netball Team.
Liyema Peter was selected as a member of the U17A KZN Action Netball team and was awarded Colours for her achievement.
Isabella Stubbs played in the u21 KZN Action Netball team that represented the province in the national IPTs. She was awarded Colours.

Lara Mulqueeny was awarded a Merit Certificate for her selection into the U13B KZN Action Netball team and we congratulated the following learners who represented KZN in Action Netball Tournaments. They received Junior Colours. Natily Claassen KZN U14B, Tyra Norris KZN U14A, Tshedimolo Ntuli KZN U14B, and Amber van Heerden

Drum Majorettes: We congratulated the following majorettes on achieving their Majorette Provincial Colours: Yayira Bakah, Abongwe Dlamini and Lwenkosi Ngema. Yayira Bakah obtained her South African Majorettes and Cheerleading Association colours which means she has been placed in trials for the SA National Team that will tour Croatia this year.
Touch Rugby: Junior Colours were awarded to the following players for representing KZN Touch Rugby sides: KZN U15A Jesse Ellis, Holly Moriarty, Asiphile Ndlangisa, Mbali Tshabalala and Akeelah Willemse.
Full Colours were awarded to Samkelo Mbatha and Tahira Seethal for their selection into the KZN U19A side.
Swimming: Tayla Bruce participated in the Level 3 National Age Group Championships held in Durban. She received Half Colours.
The following swimmers received Merit Certificates for their selection into the Umlazi District Swimming Team. Payton Groger, Letokulhe Makhubu, Ayanda Ntaka, Roslyn Ramoholi and Kate Truter.
Archery: Danya Thompson represented the Proteas in the World Indoor Archery Championships in February. She achieved Bronze on that world stage and, for this, Danya was awarded Honours. Neve Quail participated in the 73rd SA National Archery Championships held in March in Johannesburg. Neve came 2nd in the competition. Neve is ranked number 1 in her age group in the country. For her achievements, she was awarded Colours.
Athletics Ncumisa Nala received a Half Colours re-award for being selected to the Umlazi District Athletics Team for Shotput.
