Budding athletes from Curro Hazeldean in Pretoria have recently carved a new chapter in their school’s history with remarkable achievements on the cross-country racetrack. In the thrilling landscape of the Pretoria Secondary Schools Cross Country League, Curro Hazeldean’s spirited boys’ cross-country team roared into third place, cementing their stature as fierce competitors among the best 45 schools. The journey to excellence didn’t stop there though, as they replicated this extraordinary feat, clinching the third position at the Noordvaal Schools Cross Country Finals. The school’s girls cross-country team emerged as radiant stars too, outshining all competitors in their relay competition at the Noordvaal Cross Country Championships.

Pierre le Roux, the Executive Head of Curro Hazeldean comments, “We are incredibly proud of our learners, who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, passion and perseverance throughout their cross-country journey.” Both cross-country competitions involved some of the best schools in the country, including Pretoria Boys High School, Tuks Sport, Midstream College and Afikaans Hoër Seuns and Meisies Skool.
