Awards for Durban Girls’ High School sport stars

Durban Girls’ High School learners received Colours, Half Colours & Honours for sport achievement:
Action Netball:
The following Grade 9 learners competed in the U15 Action Netball IPT’s and are awarded. Junior Colours: (From L-R)

- Khanya Mtyobile 9K Who Competed In The U14 Action Netball IPT’s
- Emily Thackwray 9M

Isabella Stubbs 10D competed in the U16 Action Netball IPT’s and is awarded Half Colours.

Archery:
NEVE QUAIL 9K competed in the Kenfield Indoor/Outdoor Tournament and received a gold medal in her category – Recurve Cub Girls in the U15 section. She is also the current National record holder at Outdoor 40m. She competed in the National Championships and for her national colours over the Easter Weekend in Pretoria. Neve is awarded JUNIOR COLOURS for this fine achievement.
Pistol Shooting:
DAKOTA DAVIES 12V is the SA and KZN Ladies Production Champion having won all 3 legs of Nationals from 2018 – 2022. In February at the recent Nationals held in Polokwane, she was not only the best Ladies Production competitor, but the best performing Production competitor for Kwazulu Natal. DAKOTA is awarded COLOURS for this fine achievement. From these performances Dakota was selected for Individual Production Lady to represent South Africa at the next Handgun World Shoot to be held in Thailand in December.
Rock Climbing:
ARIËLLE COETZER 9N climbed for KZN at the Nationals and Lead Climbing Championships in Cape Town during the holidays and was placed 3rd in the U15 Age Group in Lead and 6th in Bouldering. (Junior Colours). She will travel to Dallas, Texas in August to compete at the Youth games. ARIËLLE is awarded JUNIOR COLOURS for this fine achievement.
Gymnastics:
At the Gymnastics South Africa Gym Games in 2021 LUYANDA KHUZWAYO 12N and ZARA LALLJEE 11D competed for KZN at Level 6.
LUYANDA was awarded the title of South African Champion placing 1st and ZARA was placed 2nd overall they are awarded COLOURS for this fine achievement.
Softball:
For her selection to the KZN Women’s team that played in the Gordon Monk Provincial Championships in January and the National Provincial Championships in Cape Town in March, ESTI SHORE 12P is re-awarded COLOURS. Her KZN Team was placed 3rd overall at the NPC’s.
Swimming
KATE TRUTER 8R qualified to swim in the SSA Regional Junior Championships and is awarded JUNIOR COLOURS.
LEIGH-ANN MITCHLEY 10R is awarded HALF COLOURS for qualifying to swim in the SSA Regional Junior Championships.
TAYLA BRUCE 10B is awarded COLOURS for qualifying to swim at Senior Nationals in the South African National Junior Swimming Championships.
