In a resounding declaration of triumph, Abbotts College Centurion unveils its inaugural National Senior Certificate (NSC) matric results, spotlighting a distinctive focus on the academic improvements and the exceptional achievements of its top performers. Principal Sanet van Rensburg reflects on the transformative journey with the IEB exam board, stating, “We embarked on a new educational journey with the IEB exam board with our first matric group who would write the IEB Exam. A refreshing difference marked our initial experience. The unfamiliar terrain brought about excitement and showcased our students’ remarkable growth in self-confidence. Facing the unknown with a resilient growth mindset, the students and teachers at Abbotts College Centurion not only navigated the challenges but also emerged stronger. Our first final exam with the IEB was a testament to the adaptability and resilience of our students, reflecting a positive and enriching shift in our academic landscape. We are incredibly proud to have maintained our 100% pass rate.”
Highlighting a commitment to improvement, Abbotts College proudly reveals statistics showcasing the students’ progress from 2022 Grade 11 to 2023 Grade 12. Notably, the improvements in Maths (24.39%), Science (24.31%), and Business Studies (20.51%) underscore the institution’s focus on academic improvement. Among the Full-Time Students, notable academic improvements were observed in their Final Grade 12 marks compared to their Final Grade 11 marks. Vutomi Shingange demonstrated commendable progress, with a remarkable increase of 21% in Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD), 10% in English, 10% in Geography, 16% in Life Orientation (LO), 10% in Mathematical Literacy (Matsh Lit), and 15% in Tourism.

Tebogo Mashile excelled in Business with a growth of 14%, while Design saw a substantial increase of 17%. Additionally, Drama witnessed a commendable rise of 14%, and both LO and Maths Lit showcased an improvement of 16% and 15%, respectively.

Nduvho Netshivhazwaulu displayed exceptional growth in Afrikaans with an outstanding 25% increase, while Geography, Life Science, and Mathematical Literacy recorded improvements of 14%, 17%, and an impressive 23%, respectively.

These advancements reflect the students’ dedication and hard work throughout their academic journey. In a testament to academic excellence, the school boasts a total of 74 distinctions, maintaining an impeccable 100% pass rate, with an outstanding 86% Bachelors Degree pass rate among its 78 students. This accomplishment reflects Abbotts College Centurion’s commitment to nurturing each student’s potential.
The pinnacle of success lies in the recognition of top achievers, with Lushaan Chetty securing an impressive Full House of 7 distinctions, followed by Jordyn Jane Pieterse and Chloé Venus Ruhfus, each achieving 5 distinctions.
