Curro Holdings, JSE-listed independent education provider, has once again posted impressive Independent Examinations Board (IEB) pass results from the Matric class of 2024. Curro CEO, Cobus Loubser, congratulated the matriculants and their teachers on an exceptional pass rate of 99% and praised their commitment and dedication. “Well done to our 2 426 learners who wrote the 2024 IEB matric exams,” he said. “Our learners from our campuses across the country did us proud, with 70.4% achieving a minimum of a C-average and 238 (10%) learners achieving an A average. You have helped us to uphold our record for academic excellence and demonstrated the fruits of our focus on quality education. We wish you all the best as you embark on the next stage of your journey and look forward to seeing how you shape your future and that of our country. Thank you also to our teachers and parents who have successfully supported these learners through their school careers, enabling them to achieve these results. I’m sure you are just as proud as I am.” Curro also has several schools that write the Department of Basic Education (DBE) National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams, which will see results released on 14 January 2025.

We are also proud to celebrate the IEB ISC results as achieved by the learners at Walvis Bay Gymnasium. The IEB celebrates all learners who achieved results within the TOP 1 % of all candidates per subject across the country. Curro is proud to congratulate 26 of our schools with 75 listings on the various TOP 1% of all candidates per subject lists.

A holistic education lens

Loubser also expressed empathy for learners who did not feel they had met their potential with their results. “Sometimes exams just don’t go as planned, despite all the hard work and preparation. Continue to work hard for your goals.Whatever your final results, I am confident that the quality education you received, with broad and balanced excellence in academics, sport and culture, prepared you well for adulthood. Wherever your skills lie, you are ready to contribute meaningfully to society as responsible citizens. Curro will proudly follow your progress with interest, all the best!”

Laura Sarmiento from Curro Klerksdorp who was diagnosed with an illness and wrote her exams from hospital

o Aneeq Poole from Curro Century City who is visually impaired and had to overcome several obstacles.
